PVMS Tiger Tuesday News 5/24/22

Tiger Tuesday News

May 24, 2022

Happy Tuesday PVMS Families & Community!

It's hard to believe this is our final Tiger Tuesday News of the school year! I am so proud of the hard work and core values our Tigers have demonstrated in this very difficult year. I am grateful for the collective efforts and resiliency our staff has shown so that student learning could continue to be the main focus this year.

This has also been a year of growth and reflection for me. It has led me to reaffirm my own goals and the needs of my family. I have made a decision to accept a 6-12 principalship in a district and school much closer to my home. This will allow me to have the same school schedule as my son and have more work-life balance.

While this is a difficult decision, I am confident in our staff's ability to continue to put the needs of our Tigers first and to provide a safe and rigorous learning environment for ALL kids.

I have enjoyed every minute with this community and our Tigers. I am grateful for the time we have spent together. I wish you all the best of luck in your future endeavors.

Sincerely,

Cristina Bissell

2022-23 Supply List

The school supply list for the upcoming school year can be found here.

Required Back-to-School Parent Meetings

Effective school and family partnerships are a critical element of student success. In the upcoming school year we are excited to work with each and every family to support their students' academic and social-emotional growth. To ensure that we start the year out with shared clarity and purpose, all parents/guardians will be required to attend a parent meeting prior to their student starting school in August. Student’s schedules will be made active following their parents' attendance at one of these meetings. Students are welcome to join their parents at these meetings, but are not required to do so.

We plan on offering many options for meetings day and times, including morning, evenings, and weekend sessions. We will share dates and sign-up links in the beginning of July.

Yearbooks

Yearbooks have arrived! Students that purchased a yearbook already will receive theirs before they leave for summer break.

We are unfortunately totally sold out of these yearbooks though. All extras have been sold to those on the waitlist - if you were not contacted from the waitlist, we ran out. If you would still like to purchase one, please fill out the following google form. We can only order more if we get 25 requests. If we do reach that, I will contact you via email to let you know to send in payment with your child. Yearbooks will be delivered to your home in about 5 weeks. The total cost, including shipping, will be $42. If you are still interested, here is the link! Form Link: https://forms.gle/xHjZ7uKJqpZgr1b36

2022-23 Immunization Requirements

It’s hard to believe but we are already underway prepping for the 22-23 school year. Getting vaccinated is an important part of a student’s school readiness and keeps children from catching and spreading diseases that can make them sick and potentially disrupt in-person learning. See below for guidance from the Colorado Department of Public Health & Environment on required school immunizations.

Fees

Each year all students are required to pay student fees. These fees were $90 for the 21-22 school year and help cover chromebook repairs, technology licenses and student activities.

We have many students with outstanding fees. We have sent fee balance notices in the mail to all families. These funds are very important to PVMS and allow us to support learning opportunities for your students. 27J policy also outlines that students may not participate in extracurricular activities, including sports, if their fees are not paid.

If your student has previously qualified for Free & Reduced Lunch you would have had some reduced or waived fees. Because meals are free for all students this year, many families did not complete this application. This application must be submitted in order to eligible program fees to be waived. Please visit this site to complete the application.
