Although 27J is providing free breakfast and lunch to each 27J student, each Kindergarten through Fifth Grade student is assessed a Student Fee, Technology Fee and Licensing Fee totaling $65 per student. Also, if your student rides the bus to and/or from the school, the cost per month per student is $40 with a cap of $80 per month per family. This why we are asking each family to complete and submit an Application for Free and Reduced-Price School Benefits application.

Families who would qualify for the free or reduced lunch will have all elementary student fees waived. That is quite a savings, especially if your student rides the bus. To complete the application, please click here. You will need your student(s) Student ID numbers to complete the applicatoin. How do you get their number? Simply sign into the Parent Portal to obtain their numbers. If you have not set up your parent portal, complete this form and we will set up the account for you.

Our Parent-Teacher conferences will take place the first week of October. Report cards will NOT be available at that time since the quarter doesn't close until October 13th. The conference will be a time to discuss your student's progress. Please begin to watch your email for more information from your student's teacher.

As you shop at your “favorite” King Soopers, did you know that 2% of your purchases could be donated to Southlawn Elementary? PLUS, if you have families and friends living outside of Colorado who shop at stores like Baker’s, City Market, Ralphs, Smiths and other Kroger stores, their purchases, too, can qualify for the 2% donation to Southlawn. It’s very simple. They simply have to apply online by clicking here and selecting Southlawn in Commerce City, Colorado, as their choice for donation. So, spread the word. It’s that easy.

We have a collection of items which have been collected from the playground in our lost and found (located just inside the back entrance to our school). If your student is missing a water bottle, lunch box or ball, please check out the lost and found.

Beginning October 6th (and every first Friday of the month through May), we will donate the lost and found items to a local charity. Items will be colllected at 3:40 PM that first Friday.
